As an employer operating PAYE as part of your payroll, you need to complete certain tasks during each tax month. Tax months run from the 6th of one month to the 5th of the next. Employers must calculate tax, National Insurance contributions, pensions and other deductions, issue employees with payslips (it is legally acceptable to issue payslips online in the UK), and make RTI submission to HMRC on or before payday each month. Employer must inform HMRC even if there were no payments made in a tax month.

Information required to process payroll
- PAYE registration certificate (if already registered)
- Complete employee information form (click here to download)
- Provide copy of P45 statement if it is not the first job since last 06 April
- Provide P11D’s for PAYE and National Insurance or Last payslips if moving from another provider
- For hourly paid staff, provide time sheets before agreed deadline
